Boho Style Fabrics
Boho, short for Bohemian, has become a major lifestyle trend. It continues to gain momentum due to the relaxed contrast it provides our busy high tech lives. Boho style incorporates the full range of vintage textiles found in my shop. Mixing multiple global fabrics gives a room or outfit character and history.
Boho and Social Media
Boho and social media live hand-in-hand. One would seem to contradict the other, but in fact, the strength of the boho lifestyle trend has been fueled in large part by the social media style-darlings that post design inspiration photos for all to see. Case in point, Justina Blakeney, pictured above.
Boho style includes items like wicker baskets, green plants, and hand crafted, textural fabrics and vintage textiles. Hand made global fabrics can be mixed and matched with little effort to create the best end result. Does a pink and black pillow go with a southwestern rug, an African indigo shibori, and a Mexican leather and wood chair? Of course it does. The common link is a hand crafted history.
Boho style interiors allow mixing textiles and color to your heart's content. Just remember, it's all about the hand crafting, repurposing, and up-cycling of vintage or new global-style fabrics.
My shop is filled to the brim with options for anyone wanting to experiment or complete a boho look with vintage textiles. If you don't see it on my website, please visit my Etsy shop for more inventory to choose from.
Happy sewing and happy decorating!
