Mud Cloth with a Pop of Color

African fabrics take on unlimited forms. The mud cloth fabric has become more recognizable as tribal patterns and the earthy colors become more popular for home and apparel use.

How do you use mud cloth? Well, the one pictured above makes a perfect fabric for decorative pillow covers. The warm rust color coordinates back to white and ivory neutrals. Or use it as an accent back to cool indigo blue.

Be sure to check out the Morrissey Fabric shop on this site or on Etsy for a wide range of authentic African mud cloth options. Don't see one in the color you want? Send me, Anita Morrissey, a message and I'll see if I have what you seek in my extensive mud cloth and vintage African indigo inventory.

Happy sewing!
