Mud cloth, antique Bogolan. One of a kind Bogolanfini with a figurative design created with fermented mud paint. This unusual conversational textile that would make unique wall art, or use for pillows or upholstery.
***Unfortunately I have not been able to translate the text on this mud cloth.
There are some light areas where the fermented mud pattern has faded.
Hand crafted in the 1950s to 1970s.
50 to 51 inches long x 36 to 37 inches wide. 100% cotton.
*** I have cleaned this vintage textile so it's ready for use. You cannot spot clean this vintage cloth because it will leave the area blank.
As with many vintage pieces, this item has signs of wear with uneven areas of color. These traits add to the beauty and unique quality of this fabric.
