Guatemalan Fabric, Small Vintage Corte Textile with Hand Embroidered water jug motifs
Small piece of Indigo "Corte" Cloth from Guatemala. Heavy vintage cotton fabric in a very dark indigo blue with white plus multi color embroidery randa accent. There is one embroidery stripe (1 inch wide) that runs through the center, this detail is called a randa.
*** Note that the rainbow color embroidery looks like tiny water jugs. This cloth is great for pillows, displayed on the wall, or this small piece would be nice as a dog bed cover.
This vintage Guatemalan fabric is washed and ready to use. It's very heavy, like denim, with white stripes woven through the fabric (yarn dye stripes). The weight is approx. 14 oz. per sq yd.
*This textile has been ethically sourced and approved for export by the Guatemalan Ministry of Culture.
This hand crafted cloth is 47.5 inches long x 46 inches wide.
